25 years ago on the first Sunday in March of 1997, over 500 runners took part in the first ever Chilly Half Marathon and Frosty 5K. Since then, thousands of runners across Ontario and beyond have come to know and love Ontario’s premier half marathon event. To celebrate this 25th Anniversary, we have compiled a historical record of how this event came to be. We hope you will enjoy the 25 year story we have put together and that you learn a bit more about the race and the history behind it. We never could have made it this far without you!

2022 REGISTRATION IS OPEN!

We are hoping to make next year’s New Balance Chilly Half Marathon, Frigid 10K & Frosty 5K the first truly big in-person event of 2022. Of course, the pandemic changed our plans in 2021 leaving us the virtual race option only.

If we are unable to stage our live event in March as planned, we will weigh all options and may even consider hosting the event at a later date in the year such as the summer or fall.

You can still register now for the 2022 event and be a part of the return to live racing whenever that happens. Register now!
